Fritz's was started by Fritz and Rose Plapp in 1927. Bringing a
taste of his German Master Sausage Maker skills to the USA.
Now in the 4th generation of family running and making all of the sausages, we still use Fritz's recipes for our original old world style sausages. Fritz's team never thought about cutting quality or corners by adding fillers and unknown meats to our recipes, we use only quality cuts of meat and everything is still made by hand right here in our USDA inspected facility.
Fritz's Meat & Superior Sausage was established on 39th St in Kansas City in 1927.Outgrowing the first location, Fritz's was moved to Stateline Road in 1969 to their new HUGE facility. Being Kansas City's oldest smokehouse and USDA Inspected is no easy task. Fritz's is the original Smokehouse that helped and paved the way for many of the meat markets today. If you know sausages you're sure to have tasted a Fritz's original recipe sausage in many stores and restaurants around town.

Q: What days are you open?
A: Monday to Friday 8 am-5:30 pm Saturday 8 am to 4:30 pm.
Q: Do you Deep fry Turkeys?
A: No, due to the extreme safety issues of deep frying anything large we do not....plus our smoked turkey's are better and juicier then any deep fried turkey.
Q: How much does it cost to smoke meat or fish?
A: $2.00 per lb. for ANYTHING ($10.00 minimum)
Q: Can my Turkey/Other be frozen?
A: Yes we prefer it frozen, but it is not necessary.
Q: When do I bring my Turkey/Other in to smoke?
A: We run custom smoking on Thursday’s to pick up Friday afternoon or Saturday. Bring your item in by close Wednesday. Holiday week schedules can vary.
Q: How do I reheat my Turkey/Ham/Ribs
A: Remember they are fully cooked so you just want to heat them to serve. The normal setting should be in your oven for 10 mins per LB. of food at 300° F...always check the item 1/2 way through cooking and add some water on top to keep it moist. Most ovens will vary by a few minutes in cooking time.
Q: What Holidays are you closed?
A: Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day
Q: Are you open for lunch?
A: YES every day we have our lunches going, except right before Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Q: What time is Lunch?
A: You can always get a cold cut sandwich from us; hot lunches start at 11 am.
We smoke our hot lunch items every day.
Q: My Family has a special recipe Sausage/Meat, can you make it?
A: YES we can make anything as long as it meets minimum requirements. Please call for more information.
Q: Does Fritz’s supply to restaurants?
A: Yes we supply to several restaurants around town and across the nation.
Q: Does Fritz’s ship?
A: YES we ship nationwide.
